Hi lads, just been given this rod,Mustad Viking Sea sport 11ft casting 60 gms/2oz was hoping to use it for spinning /plugging would it be suitable for the job,Havn,t done much plugging and was looking for some advice also Penn 260 Slammer spinning reel , Ibought it in the states last year and havn,t used it yet any info much apprec.....

plenty of guys here on the north-coast of ireland use them, i have had a
few casts with one of these models, will certainly be good enough for
youre job, and most other sea-spinning applications, well priced,
excellent rod. regards the reel good quaility brand the penns, not
sure of this model, but as you say bought in the states, should work
a treat, just one more suggestion you could team this out-fit with
braid, a whole host of brands to choose from.

Hi Steve, thanks for the info looking forward to using the rod ,guy in shop spoke very highly of the reel big seller in states and feedback from anglers was good strong compact reel very smooth all the usual saltwater spiel , loaded up today with braid pro plus, 25 bucks 300yds nice price compared to here waiting for bad weather to pass to use this outfit thanks again
