Shore marks from Waterford to Wicklow this weekend?

#1 Post by shamoo0804 »

Hi all,

I am new to this site (and sea fishing) and am grateful for all the help it has given me so far.

Myself and a friend are planning a weekend camping trip (must be mad this time of year I hear you all say  ). Being from Dublin, we plan to head down the east coast and would consider any marks between Waterford and Wicklow.

I would appreciate if any of you guys could suggest some decent marks (rig and baits tips would also be fantastic) for us to consider, if you know any with campsites very close by, then that would be even better.

We have pier and beach casting tackle so could consider a few different options.

I am not expecting you to give away your secret spots but a bit of general help would be great.

Thanks in advance :)

*Also I would like to say thanks to Eric for all the help and advice on our recent session.*

the campsite at ferry bank is handy me and gino stayed there last summer we fished the bay for a hour or so and didnt catch, but there is bass in the summer there. you could try katts strand that is on your left as you are coming into wexford before the campsite. the campsite is open all year too. if you set up your tent you could always head down to kilmore and fish the burrow ask the locals where it is in kilmore then head back to wexford only half an hour drive back mite be a chance of a bass down there or a codling try pennel rigs if not go with 3 hook flappers lug rag peeler mackeral and squid are the baits i would use. wexford is the best bet as there is only small whiting that will have you scourged on the east coast beaches . hope this helps lads and good luck
