Rotten bottems who uses them for uptideing and how do you set them up

also for boat use downtideing

and last of all from the beach

im just looking for new ideas to cut down on tackle losses

Downtiding.....use a fairly strong paperclip.

Uptiding......Never bothered

From the shore..... I've used those Gemini weak link things with mixed results.
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial :D

shore- never bother, 30lb straight through

down tiding- rubber band

never uptide
species for 2009 (42)
species for 2010 (27)
species for 2011 (12)
species for 2012 (8)

my main one is uptideing what is the best rig you have found using a weak link that is tangle free
any chance of a few diagrams/photos

i use weaker line or a paper clip. weaker line is proabably the most foolproof i have found.

downtiding: i tend to use a large paperclip. tried line and found it messy especially if i wanted to change leads etc regularly. elastic bands also work well

off the shore: i use whatever the shop has when i buy them.... which isnt all that often, cant see why the shore options wouldnt work uptiding, especially the mustad version which is basically a metal loop
