People:Neilus and Myself

Duration:3.40 till 8pm

Tide: 13:40 (0.9) 20.25 (4.7)

Weather: Clear with blusterly westerly which we sheltered from. Rolling 1 to 2 foot wave action on the beach which is unusual for here

Bait: Tesco fresh mackerel.

Rigs: I used 1/0 to 2/0 penel pulleys and 1/0 2 hook golds

Results: One dog

Report: I put the report up on the web site as I`d put in the meets section of the forum but seems like theres no interest in clare meets. It`s a bit early for fishing here but there`s always the chance of a ray but we fed the crabs. I was hitting it over the waves to as far as I could cast and a larger bait was at 90 yards out on the second. Neilus varied his casts more casting close in. He had one bite at distance but no fish. As the water got higher and into darkness I reduced my casting and varied the distance. Neilus went home at half 7 and I reeled the doggy on my last cast at around 70 or 80 yards out at 8pm when packing up. Nice to get out with a break in the weather but a long way to drive for a doggy.
