no eric my mate is looking for a new beach caster he is using a fixed spool at the moment. he would be using an off the ground style cast. i was just thinking that this rod might suit him.

any other opinions on a rod would be welcome.

Howya samo. I have a zzipplex GBL and its perfect for off the ground casting and a great all rounder. A bit pricey but havent used a rod that comes antwhere near it.

I'm also a big fan of this rod, the other Pete uses one also. Covers almost all bases to be honest.
