Shore Angling Skerries

Hi,

As I'm moving to Skerries soon I'm just wondering if there is any good shore fishing around :D

not bad bad fishig up that way. i used to live in rush, laytown beach, howth and rush harbour are worth a shot.
some times catching crabs is a good thing.........or is it...........?

09 so far--codling coalies plaice flounder turbot 3&5 bearded rockling doggies whitting shanny and a [color=#FF0000]5lb [/color]huss thornback ray squid starfish mackeral pollack corkwing wrasse ballan wrasse [color=#FF0000]5lb 6oz [/color]conger

Used to live in Howth and have been fishing on Balscaddn.
Good fun sometimes but nothing spectacular :-)

Worst spot ever seen when it comes to rubbish left by others...

Will try the spots you suggested :-)

Moving in about 2 weeks hehe...

You could try the northern end of the north strand mate, have had dabs and plaice there... also dogs near the rocks. small shoals of mullet in the harbour in summer, also have had decent pollock in the channel between the playground area and red island, horrible ground tho, youll need plenty of tackle.

Northern end of North strand, is that rotten bottom too?
2008 Species: Flounder, whiting, coal fish, Dogfish, rockling, dab.

from what i remeber mate it was a rocky bottom for 30/40 yards out then your on sand... with the odd snag here and there

from the looks of it id say wexford. plenty of them available in calm conditions in the summer

try rush st beach from may there.s good bass and nt beach rush good bass to but you.l hav to put in the hrs for them there not rampant and on big lug baits, then laytown good bass and flounders but the bass fishing in autum and fish on the small pitch and put course side wen u c the lay out of the beach u know why, lug rag crab razor
