Kerryman article on illegal netting

#1 Post by teacher »

There are a couple of articles on illegal netting in the January 16th edition of The Kerryman, if anyone has access to a copy. Can't find it on the web ...

Kerryman is available on unison.ie but its only current up to jan9th. I'd say they'r waiting it to come of the coach and four below in cork before it can go on the net-things can get dodgy on the butterroad over the border like.

illegal netting

Hi lads, seen the reports in the kerryman wed 16th on illegal netting, Brandon area makes for very disturbing reading,. lots of fish in nets ,bass, mullet, sea trout. But also the lengths witch the netters went, to avoid detection it was bad to read and dos.nt bode well for the future if it continues. Revenue from angling would boost local economy if fish are there to be caught rather than the paltry sum the netters would get hopefully these guys might cop on.

Netters chased some visiting anglers from Brandon to Castlegregory seemingly for showing too much interest in some nets set at Brandon.
