Shore Tope Traces

#1 Post by alby »

Does anyone know a site on the web where you can buy Shore Tope Traces, or failing that is it difficult to tie up your own, and what materials you need to tie one, thanks.

Hi Alby.

As far as I know, the best trace/rig for a tope is a standard pulley rig, with a 4ft length, and make the snood either out of multistrand wire, or VERY heavy mono, ie 200lb+.

BTW, I have never caught a tope from the shore, so I am only passing on what others have told me.

Cheers

Tope Rig

Use a rig with a running lead, rotten bottom if you want, with about a 4ft long 100lb wire trace. Avoid mono if you can, those teeth will go straight through it. Youll see what I mean when you catch one

Good luck
