Bait presentation??

Just started fishing the west coast,

looking for tips on bait presentation;

like how best to hook fish strips or squid for bottom fishing?

size and shape

different types of rag/lug presentations

would welcome any help or links

for squid and mackerel use thin strips about 4-5cm which arnt too thick, cut away some flesh if need be, hook squid only once through one end and allow to flap and for mackerel hook it through both ends, straighten and wrap in elastic to leave you with a nice mini sausage. for tipping only use a 1-2cm strip


for lugworm, pull of the heel and pass the hook through the lugworms bumbum :twisted: :twisted: thread it along the shank and allow the point to pass through the head, try your best not to pierce the worm while threading it, or you could cheat like me and buy a baiting needle.
for rag do the same as the lug, nut leave a bit of the tail hanging on the hook to give movement
