Bangor pier 02/11/04

#1 Post by pookie5488 »

Fished the pier and back wall. Loads of whiting all small and bait stealers. Fun for a bit loads of tip movement. Would have like to see a bigger fish but. Way to many small ones every cast.
Moved to back wall with boat rod and half macs total luck thing. Had one nice pull on line it shot off and my knot gave way trace and all. Teach me to watch my knots. Fun but and heart went so worth it.

fished back of pier myself last night ,had two congers on lost them in rocks , ended up having five runs from fish ,none landed !
Caught my first tadpole fish wasn't very big but a new spieces anyway ,also had gobys, sea scorpions , rockling and poor cod . caught all them on my trusty micro cast rod ,least their a bit of sport on light gear .
will have to try and get down the pier at the same time some night ,maybe have a forum meet for the guys from the north , shockleader was down for a chat last night ,good to put faces to names .

I suggest the weekend of the 12th ie the fri,sat or sunday. Whatever suits everyone.

If interested leave name and what date suits best and suggestion of venue.

Me iam free all them days and fish anywere. Were u from that u need a lift may be able to help as long as your an adult iam sure you understand a bit wierd to offer lfts to young lads.

Come on this could start a good thing comps every other week different venues and i can learn loads from you all.

Hi again Ronald. As you say,it's nice to put a face to the names.I enjoyed our wee chat last night, and nice to witness you catching the tadpole fish.Has your pal gotten over it yet?We must have just missed Pookie.Would have been good to have met him as well. The proposed get together is a good idea, but would those rocks at the back of the pier suit everyone? They wouldn't bother me but can't speak for anyone else.

there would be about 6 people so some of the pier and the rest of the back. everyonr to there own sort of thing. Just a chance to get together and see if a proper fish off from a beach be worth sorting for december.

also i can learn from proper anglers.
