People: JW, luke aston

Duration: 08:00-16:30

Tide:high around midday

Weather: SE F4/F5

Bait: peeler, lug, rag, frozen mackerel and squid

Rigs: every one known to humanity

Results: poor cod, pollack, coalie, ballan wrasse, octopus and a big skate that got away

Report: Could see shoals of fish on the dual frequency fishfinder but the
HOORS would now touch any rig must be the EAST WIND. Not a single fish
in the boat by lunchtime. Ate the cucumber and smoked salmon sambos
for luck and in desperation Anchored up and a steady trickle of fish
were landed, nothing spectacular. Put down a 9/0 baited with two
peelers and a frozen squid. Skate moved slowly away to the west with
15lb of drag and thumb pressure could not be stopped. After 20 minutes
he broke the new 50lb braid.

Fair play to you John for persisting in the depths of winter. There must be loads of triggers dying of with those drops in temperatures. Seen them washed up around home the last month aswell.

Well done John. Nice fishing. If I'd known you were going out I'd have been interested. Was off for most of last week.

steve,

would have welcomed company. I called the numbers in my phone and everyone said it was too close to xmas, so went on my own. Expected better
fishing, they would not take from the drift, only anchored

Hopefully we will get a trip out somewhere when it settles again
