Help with Donegal fishing marks for New Year

#1 Post by nifisher »

Hi,

I am heading up to Donegal over the New year in the Kerrykeel area. If anyone could give advise of where would be good and what baits would work well I would really appreciate it. I am going to be bringing a couple of mates who have never fished and would love to get them a few fish.

I really dont expect anyone to give me there best kept secrets but if anyone wants to PM me any location that can produce some nice fish then I promise to look after it and all fishing will be C&R.

Cheers in advance

you have got a good bit of choice depending what your looking for, fanad has plenty spots, then you can go up to downings..depends a lot on what you want really..rocks, beach, pier...

I think your best bet would be to head towards Downings and take the road for Atlantic drive. You are spoilt for choice on that road. Weather its beach fishing or rock fishing most species will show. Best spots to fish is probably Tranarossan beach and rocks, Melmore Head or on the right hand side as you travel to Melmore Head you have the mouth of Mulroy Bay! When you get there just ask any of the locals and they will point you in the right direction!
