killiney, me secret codling spot

#1 Post by eric »

People:me

Duration:4:30-8:30

Tide:flooding

Weather:windy but mild

Bait:mussel and lug

Rigs:2 hook pat clipped down

Results:4 codling, a red crab and some whiting

Catch and Release:: kept one cod for dinner

Report:was supposed to go fishing with mb3 to show my special killiney spot but he couldn't make it, so i set off regardless, with my SAI patch proudly ironed to my fleece. got there at half 4 and started fishing. with a huge swell running hopes where high, out side of the breakers the bay was flat calm , water was running up to the steps in the carpark. spent a few fruitless hours waisting time with salted lug. switched to fresh and immediately caught a red crab:D around 7:30 i landed a mini whiting things where on the up. then i landed 4 codling the biggest measuring in at 43cm, kept one for tea. got home and realised the patch had fallen off!!! im still crying.
