corkharbour area/garryvoe

#1 Post by beachbuddy »

Went to cork harbour area today but flat calm and couldn't fish my usual spot as the place was covered with pots very annoying this appears to be getting worse as the months go by,packed up after an hour and went towards garryvoe but wait for it as i was packing up the place exploded with mackeral no wonder the cod aren't in yet.
Arrived 2hrs before high tide same story flat sea ,din't hold out much hope but managed 3 coalies and 3 doggies, the coalies were a good size over 2 lbs and all the fish took re re re frozen razor and not a touch on my crab or fresh lug,at least it wasn't a blank but boy it was close.
Till next time,tight lines.

Fished a spot on the east side of the harbour yesterday in what I thought were perfect conditions...only a few coalies for my efforts. Lots of crab pots there...I wonder was it your spot??
Fished a low water mark on the other side of the harbour today and blanked....looks like the bass are gone , can't complain though, had my best year yet :D
