silverstrand 25-11-07

#1 Post by chrisfeeney30 »

People:eoin,jamie,myself,eric and mike

Duration:3-8

Tide:riseing then droping

Weather:sw wind, conditions were grand

Bait:mackeral

Rigs:2 hook flappers

Results:coalfish,whiting,mackeral

Catch and Release:: Yes except mackeral

Report:we decided to have a session in silverstrand for a change from salthill! didnt have any lug and the mack was poor! we arrived on the beach at about 2.40. conditions seemed ideal untill we realised the amount of weed about! baits were coming in untouched untill dark(exactly what was expected). midget came down for a chat for a while too! the first fish was from eoin, he thought he had a decent coalfish but when he brought it in, it was a mackeral   lol! the funny thing was, a few minutes later there was a man mackeral fishing beside us! haha as the tide started to drop, the bites slowed and the weed got worse. pulling eoins rod over and stuff. overall it was enjoyable, pity there wasnt more fish but thats fishing! lol
