People: me fein

Duration: 15.30 - 19.30

Tide: filling

Weather: overcast, light sw

Bait: all refrozen mack, sandeel, lug, mussel

Rigs: 3,2 flappers, pulley

Results: A Flounder!

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report: well its been 7 months since i tried this beach the first time

had heard so many bad things that i kept putting it off - even though i wanted to try it again

last time i was in it, i noticed the the sand bar stretching out from the right of the beach to the left and tried to stick to the deeper water on the left channel

first hour no joy - then the darkness came on - the crabs showed - hooks were being cleaned close in

could feel myself dragging in the mud at distance - not much hope for there

thought maybe missed a bite or two inclose

and then barely in 10cm of water - a flounder 26cm

was delighted - had a few more casts looking for his mates - no joy

have noticed that flounder really are camoflajed perfectly for their beach

there was loads of razor shell, mussell shell and oyster shell about - and this chap had 3-4 big white blotches in his colouration

another venue ticked on the list

neilus there is life there!

Cheers Round_ourway

its good craic learning a new spot - and if all fails go back to the regulars and get the confidence up again - then off on another jaunt!
