Presenting cocktails baits

#1 Post by Read »

How are the large cocktail baits I see in the magazines presented. Are they threaded up the snood?

Declan it depends on the bait. large cocktails can be mixed alongside the snood rather than threaded. what baits do you have in mind? for example large worm baits can be threaded up the snood and mussel/ squid can be whipped on alonside them to make a large single bait.

A large amount of the coctail baits I use involve a pennell rig and a good whipping of bait thread!

Use a large baiting needle and prepare the bait first then whip it up the snood.

George,

I have never used, or seen used, a baiting needle. My impression is that you build the cocktail around it, withdraw it and as you say whip it onto the snood. Is this correct? Do you know of any online demos of this?
