Report:

arrived early enough to get a slagging from jp about castin on the beach berfore hand. he might have laughed then and probably still does, but for me it paid off.. (serviced my abu6500 last night and needed to tune it up, thats my excuse and i'm sticking to it), the comp started fairly slow, and then all eyes looking over to jp's peg.. would you believe it.. he caught a ray  .. the ball has started to roll.. but short lived as i brought in a nice 65cm doggie... then another long wait.. then as you could guess jp catches a diogge :? , but not long after i secure another doggie, then he brings in a spidercrab  .. and soon after i bring in a spidercrab  .. it was obvious by this stage that only 2 people out of 16 were catching.. i was pegged No.6 and jp No.8, it was also obvious that distance was the key.. after 3 hours of 2 people fishing and 14people enjoying the scenery darkness started to prevail.. a quick change of bait produced a nice little whiting for me.. but very soon after jp produced 2 little 'ens, and after a sudden realisation that we count undersized fish(5pts with no bonus, those few extra points could mean everything)..
corbyeire showed up with a nice 32cm flounder he caught on a flyer, and found out that midget caught a flounder of 27cm.. and a few others catching whiting(very few others) time soon crept to an end :)
it was now obvious who came in what place...
a quick gatherin in the carpark while points were added(you didnt need to be a mathematician to work it out) and everyone was off , with a few stopping in Oughterard for a bite to eat..

i had a good day, not sure about the others.. i'm sure the slagging will begin soon, but i dont care.. i came in second to 'Well Boy' himself
