headed off with nige to fing a good surf running, both of us secured a few flounder before Bradan arrived :D nige got a nice 33cm flounder (kept for pot), not long after Bradan arrived fishing went slack, then he caught something which i mistook as his bait, it was a whiting after closer inspection, yeay.. they are about :? , myself and nige pulled in a couple of flounder mine 30cm his 28cm, good size fish about :D
nige left us to catch more (probably recovering from jetlag after being in the states the last 3 weeks)
other than the odd eejit letting off fireworks further down the beach it was quite an enjoyable evenings fishing

results are as follows

nige:3 flounder
Bradan: 5 flounder 2 whiting (largest flounder of 34cm)
neil: 3 whiting

Enjoyable session. Arrived about 8, the lads had been fishing since 6. Nothing for 2 casts and Steve started showing off "This is what a fish looks like". Hardy har har....
Then I started catching flounder, a nice double shot, all of a sudden he's getting worried - "Its not a competition!". Finally overtook him on the last cast with a beauty of 34cm, nice and plump. All mine were between 24 and 34cm. Whiting were tiny, not much bigger than the slivers of mack on the hook!
Still good for a bit of variety. Finished with 5 flounder and 2 whiting.
Neil came out for his first visit to Silverstrand, could only stay a couple of hours, but I think he'll be back.
Finally, well done to Nige! :D
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!

i was happy with what i caught, and managed to pull out a second species on the last cast, even though it was a whiting approx 20cm
