Galway Beach 06.10.07

#1 Post by saltydog »

People: Myself fishing and a friend watching

Duration: 4hrs 13.30-17.30

Tide: Rising Full at 14.00 then Dropping

Weather: Clear blue skies, wind light south easterly

Bait: Sandeel & Mackerel

Rigs: Various

Results: 4 Turbot 3 Flounder

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report: Got to location at 13.30 and set up light south easterly tide rising fished two rods one in close baited with sandeel and the other further out with mackerel. Got a couple of taps pretty much straight away reeled in a little turbot accompanied by a lot of weed coming in with the tide which was hampering my rod which was close in. The weed was a bit of a pain until the tide peaked but after that it wasn't much of an issue. Reeled in another little turbot followed by a flounder, the bites died off after that and was nearly wrapping up when in came another turbot. Stayed fishing the falling tide and ended up with another couple of fish. Reeled the first rod broke it down and while i was doing that i must've missed the bite on my second rod as a flounder similar in size to the one in the photo was reeled in nice way to finish an enjoyable days fishing.

I guessing there is no chance of getting a PM with the location of this mark from anyone even if i asked nicely, never had a turbot.
