Virgin to SAI....seeking knowledge on county down coast

#1 Post by skeeter »

Hi.

Bought my first sea going boat this year and moored in Annalong harbour in August..after a few engine problems....(i Have no luck with 2nd hand engines).

Any way with little knowledge and despite the weather I managed a number of diff species including small cod, pollack, whiting, dabs the ever present macks and my first tope, slightly over the 40lb mark.

I understand there are a couple of productive wrecks at the mouth of Carlingford...how do I find these.. :? :? without gps.

Anyother tips on fishing this area. I have flyfished for bass in Carlingford..does anyone boat fish for them?
Any info is welcome........................

Skeeter,
Give me a shout anytime. Am looking into doing some fishing in Carlingford and have managed to get some info on where to fish from some of the lads on the forum here.

Am off to Tenerife tomorrow (Friday) will be back next Saturday. If you want to arrange a joint outting in both/either boat, let me know. If your boat is in Annalong, maybe best to take mine - it's at the house.

cheers connor,

Hope Tenerife was good. The boat is out of the water now, and this time of the year my thoughts tun to Pike. It would be great to go out with new next year and share some knowledge. Have you had much success yet.

Skeeter,
Holiday was grand. I use the boat in winter for piking on Muckno. PM me if you're about, or give me a shout when you fancy hitting Carlingford next year - it's flat calm down there all week, would have been good to get out even just to mark a few spots on the GPS for next year.
