People: Me and 2 others

Duration:7.30 10.15

Tide: 8.40

Weather: E S E wind. cloudy and overcast

Bait: Lug and razor

Rigs: 2 hook flapper, plus 1 tied down

Results: 5 coalie, 2 flatties, 2 doggies and a 4lbs bass

Catch and Release:: Yes/No

Report:
The wind made fishing very difficult. There was a savage pull east to west on the beach. Just after high water the weed kicked in also. Thought it was perfect for bass but only the one appeared. But cant complain.

Tried to fish the end of the beach furthest from the village a while back with G.Wyse but had to give up after about 30 minutes because of weed. What part of the beach do you recommend for a session?

Had dogs and cod off the wall (opposite the toilets) at ardmore last year - might be worth a go.

Nice fishing Ferg.

I won my first fishing competition at the stormwall in Ardmore in the early 60's. Had a dog of 1lb 11oz. Caught it on a piece of flounder as my lug had run out.

West Waterford is certainly under-rated.

Cortaz has done more to promote angling in this area than anybody. There are few men in this country that have such an angling skill.

Up the Deise.
