Duration:About 2 hours

Tide:Last hour of the ebb, first hour of the flood

Weather:14 degrees, broken cloud cover and a stiff NE wind.

Bait:Fresh and frozen mac and sand eel

Rigs:3 hook flappers and conger gear

Results:Mac, Bullhead, Dab, Whiting, Coalfish and Pouting.

Catch and Release::



Report: Headed out for an hour with Barry and we both set up 2 rods each. One for conger and another for everything else.
No luck with the conger but for the first five casts I had a species a cast.
All fish were small but good crack as the rod was always nodding.

Its the proper name for a Long spined scorpion, ( I think)

i am familiar with the sea scorpion, but as with many of the mini species out there they seem to have a different name on every pier and beach

Ya, I always called them sea scorpion but when i went to look them up they were listed as bullhead.

yeah not a bad few hours constent flow of fish to keep us busy.better then blank the day before :oops: .

Is the bullhead not a freshwater fish? Looks similar to a seascorpion.

It's the old confusion with local names. Well, they'll always be seascorpions to me!
