Any luck with rubber crabs...?
hows things lads.? roger the dodger had a bass on berkely rubber crabs just wondering has anyone else had success on them or any other artifical baits on the shore...? tried the lazy rag and found it useless it didnt even survive a gentle drop from the pier. the big appeal with the artificial baits is you can have them in the car with a telescopic rod and fish anywhere ya like the look of. so ill just throw it out there and see if any of yous had any success on artificial baits that you would like to share. cheers

I dont know which one that u mean....the edible, biodegradeble hook cast and wait like berkeley or the real plastic...hook,cast ,twitch and jerk....never tried berkeley tho....if i ever try them i wont used them just by cast and wait.....have pollack, wrasse and bass on the latter type.....one of the versatile bait wch get skeptical view from most angler....

flounder on gulp crab and lug, flounder, codling, coalie and pollock on lazy lug, also have use frozen lug and it was highly successful for cod, having trouble getting any so got gulp black lug to see if it works.
all in all i prefer fresh bait, but when you get an opportunity for a wee fishing trip, then its handy

well tried the crab and it was well nibbled by the wrasse all the legs bit off and wrase teeth marks all over it but i guess there was none big enough to engulf it so no hook ups, still though theres hope and where would fishing be without hope

Hello,
Was trying hard-back crabs for wrasse during the summer getting bites left, right and centre, but very hard to hook a fish. I switched to Berkely Gulp crabs, got one little nibble, tried for a little while, no more bites. I went back to the hard-back crabs, bites returned with a vengeance, and good fish too.
Conclusion: Berkely Gulp didn't impress on this day
