22-9-07 dublin bass mark

#1 Post by roger de dodger »

People:me

Duration:7pm-10pm
Tide:last two hours of flood 1 hour of ebb

Weather:nice flat sea south west breeze

Bait:rag razor and gulp pealer 2"

Rigs:3 hook flappers and pully size 1/0

Results:1 bass 3-4lb

Catch and Release:: No

Report:didnt fancy the wicklow tides so headed into dublin hw 9pm decided to give the berkley saltwater gulp peeler a test had two rods out both with rag on the bottom hook gulp on middle hook and rag on top hook , the rag was getting nibbled by small flounder for the first hour then as soon as dusk arrived wollop down went the rod tip and after a spirited fight my only bass / fish of the session was landed and yes to my suprise on a rubber crab !!! i must admitt i am not a huge fan of artificial baits but it is handy to know a pack of them might get you out catching if you dont have time to get the real thing. I took this fish for the pot i hadnt eaten dinner and couldnt resist it (sorry jim h)
