Report:
got a txt from Jan wondering did i want to head to balckhead fishing in the morning(my morning that is) so within 5 minutes plans were made and rods were in the car..

upon arriving at black head it was obvious that parking would be an issue.. as in, non existant.. so furter on we went.. with a little stop past fanore to get a bit more bait..

reaching ballyreen there were coach loads of hill walkers.. but only a handful of fishers, unlike blackhead which was the exact opposite..

so fishin we went.. i started off with a nice Ballan wrasse :D and closely followed with a few pollock all on the spinning rod with a size4 1oz lead and strip of mack, then the zippy gave a slight nod, was very hard to see it as the wind was doing pretty much the same thing to the rod :? decided to give it a while.. low and behold i pulled out a doggie.. went back to pollock bashing and caught a few more small ones, with the odd 30+cm fish coming out.. then i managed to pull out a nice pollock on the zippy, didnt even see it till i lifted it out of the water... all the while Jan was still blanking, told him to put on a mackerel head(onto the hook) and within minutes he was into a nice little doggie  .. back to see if i could get a nice pollock for dinner, a few more small pollock later and saw my zzippy tap again, was it wind?? nope.. yet another doggie :D ... ah.. it seems i'm back on form :D few more pollock later and changed tactics for conger.. half a mackerel went out.. and the ratched screemed.. the down side to fishing that mark is all the rocks that are hidden in the water
lost a good fish i guess, and a good rig too  out with another trace and back to pollock bashing (with an added float and bait fished at 10' deep) pulled out a mackerel.. and another mackerel.. so this is what fishing is all about

well at leastr no one blanked

things i learnt today.. a 7' rod section DOES fit into an Audi Quattro..
and an audi can go from 0-100 bloody fast   ...

results..
steve: 20 pollock, 2 doggies, 2 mack and a ballan wrasse
Jan: 1 doggie

Steve, thanks for putting up this report. Thankfully, no one has commented on the number of fish that I have caught. Perhaps the number is so low that no one has actually noticed? ;-)

Steve, it was a great session.. Thanks for joining me.
