Bait[rag/mackerel/feathers]:

Rigs[feathers/three hook flapper/rotten bottoms/float fishing]:

Results[six ballan biggest 3lbs average 2lbs, 2 dogs, 2 pollock, 50 mackerel]:

Catch and Release:[yes]except mackerel future bait and supper



Report[never fished the mark before and was quite suprised by the quality of the wrasse it held, excellent sport on light tackle. alive with mackerel. dogs out fifty yards on sand. some swimmers there but no hassle with them a bit of mutual respect goes a long way, plus a few mackerel for one of the swimmers supper to help keep up relations. nice to be nice :wink: .]:

well done nice report.
wrasse can be big down there.
good to here the mackerel are still in numbers.

it sounds like you fished in the 40ft bathing place if so this would be an excellent place to try for the congor's you are after :wink: :wink:

over the years i have had a few from this venue.

had a conger set up in the water whilst fishing a second rod, no joy on that rod. gonna hit the tea rooms on the pier sounds most promising for conger, plus a few other fish knocking around to keep me busy while waiting. have plenty of conger bait after today, lol. cheers for the tip. any ideas on rockling. dropped a goby i guess i cant add him to the species as it wasnt landed.

LITTLE BIT EARLY FOR THE ROCKLING I THINK.

but i had a specimen 3 bearded from the same venue in aug 97
try the rough ground on either end of killiney beach if you are looking for 5 bearded rockling still a little early from november on would be my choice of times.
bray harbour can also produce fish from north pier and cast towards killiney.

cheers didnt relise the rockling were late showers, guess i know what im doing in november. moe time to concentrate on whats here.

fish the back of the west pier and your guaranteed a conger ive even pet em down there :lol: :lol: persuading them towards my hook it worked :wink:
