Duration:2.5hrs(1.5 hours fishing,1 hours walking)

Report:Headed down to my usual mullet mark but the wind was right in my face so i decided to look around for a new place to fish.
I had a quick look at the map and found a spot where the wind would be in a better direction for fishing.When i arrived the wind was blowing right to left along the shoreline,which was also with the direction of tide flow.
I set up and went for a walk and from the minute i was beside the water i could see big mullet darting around in the shallows,but as soon a i got near they dissapeared.I walked for about a mile and saw mullet the whole way,(all were 4lb+) but they where only in one`s and two`s and i couldn`t get close enough to try for them.
On the way back i spotted a bigger group of fish in close so i crept(ripping my waders in the proccess :roll: ) down and threw in some free offerings which they were quickly attacking.First cast of the day and i missed a bite but i didn`t mind because i could see alot of fish in the distance moving towards me.After a few more missed bites i hooked a nice fish which took about 20 yards in its first run,10 mins later it was in the net.I thought i caught another 5lb`er but it turned out to be 4lb 13oz. :D
During the next half hour i missed a few more bites and saw around 300+ fish pass me as the tide dropped,none were much smaller than 4lb and the biggest was maybe 7lb.There was alot of fish over 5lb so i think if this rain stops i`ll be heading back today :)

What's that yellow/golden mark on their flank?

Not sure exactly what it is but it seems to be something to do with where they are caught.I`ve had them in clean water and they are pure silver and any i`ve caught in places like canals or near sewage outfalls where the water is dirty then they look like that.Maybe some sort of infection or parasite.

Got to take my hat off to you. I don't get them round my coast but tried the other week at Dingle much to my frustration.

Had some mouthing baits on the Mull of Galloway, SW Scotland a few years back which must have been 6lb but wouldn't take the bait. Nudging floats and everything at around 2 feet out. Gets your heart thumping.
