Fishfinder problems

#1 Post by Jay Doyle »

Dear All,

I'm having trouble with my fishfinder at the moment. Its a humminbird 150sx. Was working fine until it took a knock on the slip whilst taking it out of the water. The bracket broke on it. Glued it back together and its working fine now - but only when we are drifting. It did work when the boat was moving which was a handy depth indicator but no more. Could it be that the transducer is wobbling at the back? Any ideas anyone?

Kind Regards,

Jason.

Smaller, cheaper fishfinders are a bugger for losing the bottom at speed Jay. Try moving the transducer and see if that helps. Sometimes, they can catch weed or other rubbish while steaming which drops off when you stop which doesnt help.
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial :D

Hi,
I drew this cartoon entitled fishfinder problems. I don't think it will help you much with your technical problems but what the hell.
