#1 Post by glezgadery »

hi all newbie to fishing here, 34 and only been fishing a few times yet to catch something and i only know how to use spinners and feathers, tried bait but must be doing something wrong lol. looking for someone to show me a few tricks/rigs etc. i live in Derry but know and wander inishowen a lot. none of my mates have any interest in fishing and the kids are starting to get bored with no catch! i started fishing to get away from it all but wouldnt mind catching a fish but would probably die if i did lol. any advise for beginners appreciated.

fished at, buncranna peir, old pilot peir, ards peir, culdaff and heding out to lennon peir tomorrow with the kids weather permitting!

cheers

Hi glezgadery,
Welcome to the site.
Hopefully somebody on the site will buddy up with you soon but in the mean time here are a few links that might be of help with tips, rigs and bait presentation.

When you are starting out keep it simple most anglers use no more than two or three rig types, they just adjust the hook size and snood length to suit the fish/conditions. The Pulley Rig and 1up, 1down Rig are widely used.
Best of luck,
Derek
