People:Me plus 3 others

Duration: 3-5 hours

Tide:rising & falling

Weather:terrible

Bait:various rigs plus lug & mackerel

Rigs: lots

Results: very poor, a few pollock, ling and cod

Report: Tried to get out most days. Very often the weather was so poor that could not get past Youghal lighthouse. There was a huge amount of fresh water coming down the Blackwater and so the water was very muddy.

On one occasion got out to Folio. For 5 hours we caught 1 cod ( 3lbs) plus 2 small ling, a cuckoo wrasse and a pouting. The wreck was showing lots of fish but they were not feeding.

Next day fished about 3 miles off Calaso bay on a reef and caught nothing but mackerel for 3 hours.

Two days later fished around Cable Island and caught 4 pollock between 4 of us. Weather blew up really quickly and we had to run for home. 5 boats arrived in at the same time and we were the only one with fish!!!

Have my own boat in Balycotton harbour, even allowing for the terrible weather the few times Ive been able to get out have resulted in very poor fishing as described, the marks that have produced well in the past have yielded a few small ling and the odd pollack, has every one else been experiencing the same Id be interested to hear.

not good at all Stan.

very poor for this time of year must have something to do with the shite weather.
we were down in early June and managed 12 species but it was quite slow for the 2 days we had we blamed the calm conditions
might give it a shot around end of September if we get the weather.
