[b]Report This place was pickled with dogfish a lot of small dogs but still it was a great evening catching plenty of fish and some of these dogs were good scrappers the spur dog must have been only around 2 pounds but nice fish all the same must have been feeding with the dogfish shoal

I wont disclose the name of this beach as the spurdogs were desimated during the eighties and ninties by comercial fishermen strange i caught one as myself and billy were only talking about them on the phone this eve maybe they are on the way back

There has been a big showing of spurdogs along the Donegal and Mayo coasts this summer Neilus, first sign of them in a long time. Unfortunately the gill netters have been at them, seen quite a few boxes come into Killybegs and the north Mayo ports in the last few months. Frustrating watching it knowing they are such a vulnerable species.

Well done though on picking one up of the shore.
