Hi lads,just a quick question.
i was down at the Gobbins saturday night walking around and could see what looked like green lights appearing every couple of minutes in the sea,are these conger eel? or whats known as electric eel? are they they from the same family? we kept chucking bits of mackerel and squid in and it they surfaced every time we did it,you couldnt see the fish just the lights.
very strange but exciting experience.

It sounds a bit like phosperesence (think thats the spelling) its looks like tiny flashing lights just under the surface ,as far as i know its caused when you disturb the micro-organisms in the water they give of a small amounts of light caused by a chemical reaction ,you'd see it quite often in the wake of a boat at night .

If someone shows you a mark to fish, respect it and dont pass it of as one of your own, dont tell every man and his dog about it.
