Filleting mackerel

#1 Post by alancooper »

To take out all the bones in mackerel do this:
When you have filleted normally and removed the skin, turn the fillet over and you will see a line of fine bones running head to tail direction. Cut vertically down one side of the bones from head to tail then down the other side. The bones are on the fine strip in the middle, leaving two boneless strips of fillet.
