Rock/Pier Rod and Reel Recommandations

How's agoing, looking for a decent rod and reel for use fishing from piers/rocks that will hold big sizes well.

Looking at spending €150-€200 (can stretch more if needed)

Have been fishing for a while with decent rods but there all rather battered at this stage.

Ideally looking for something with a good casting distance/weight, and something with a bit of "feel" to it, don't like fishing with huge rods that prevent you from feeling the fight of the fish at the end of the line.

Just looking for advice before I buy.

not sure about first hand but you could go for a second hand nemesis and slosh, not a bad combo for the rocks.

why not go for two combos one for rocks and a lighter shorter combo for piers and spinning

Yeah wouldn't mind doing that at all, any pointers in what I should go for?

Have €300 at the mo to spend, if that's not a enough for both I could spend it on one and then get the second combo next pay cheque.

Consider an uptider as your pier/spinning rod. Same reel might do both. Check into the Boat forum for info on uptiders.

get a mixed/rough groung for rocks with penn 525 (in case you want to go beach fishing too) then a uptider and a good fixed spool reel for pier/spinning gear

you other option is to do what most of us have done start with one outfit and add other gear as you go along
