The Bailey Sat 25 Sept.

#1 Post by IDPearl »

Fished near the Bailey from 6am to 10am with m.b3 this morning and lost count of how many mackerel we caught! They were litterally jumping out of the water in shoals in front of us! Most were small joeys which we threw back, but many were a decent size. Mark caught a couple of decent sized doggies on 3 hook flappers with rag/squid and a couple of dabs along with the macks. I caught a small dab on the pulley rig, a couple of sand-eels (on feathers  !!) and macks that actually broke the tip off my rod!! That'll teach me not to be greedy! Now I have that boat rod I always wanted

Fantastic morning's fishing - not bad for 4 hours!

Super stuff. Do you know if they are still knocking around. I need to get a little bait for this seasons pike fishing and a few fresh macks would be great.
