Frustrating Mullet and wrasse
Was in Carne in wexford for a few hours and tried to get some mullet off the pier and found out just how frustrating they are, tried every fly in the box and all they showed interest in were clousers, there are hundreds there and some big ones. Had wrasse plucking at my fly form amongst the boulders all they did was pluck at the tail of the fly wouldnt bite it fully. Was using shrimps and fyggi as small as size 8 hooks.

You could try tying a fly with a small flying treble attached by 20lb mono to the main fly - an old trick for sea trout that are coming short to the fly, can be very effective for fish that are just plucking...
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!
