Species ID Confirmation

#1 Post by JGF »

Was out off the rocks yesterday in Donegal and hooked this little fella on float gear with rag bait.

Can anyone confirm if this is a shanny? Only camera i had was on the phone so not the clearest photo.

Lads, I wouldn't take Alex's word for species ID. Called me yesterday about a "carp" that had been caught by another angler in Lough Corrib, so I head in to have a look, and its a roach-bream hybrid

And him only back from fishing for carp across the water!!
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!

In fairness Alex, it no more looked like a carp than you do!

You must not have caught too many on your holiday...
