Shannon Estuary 19th July
The brother and me
Low water 3pm
Managed to con, I mean persuade, the brother into helping me take Puca out for a much needed jetwash to remove the last two months growth fom her hull. The barnacles had cost me 6 knots of top speed and were playing havoc with my already poor fuel consumption. Having got her cleaned , it seemed rude not to take a short run up the estuary
Made it to Kilcredaun head for 2pm and managed to feather half a dozen macks
A short sprint up to littor strand say us anchor with a 40 minute window on low water
First up a strap conger, the second in a week at this mark, and the first time seeing them in 3 years fishing here.
A dropped run was then followed by a fine tope of 30 something pounds
All too soon forced off the mark and a short run back to the marina
Great fishing given the short time spent
They dont call it the mighty shannon for nothing

Nice one Kev. Thank god we found out what your boat was called, got fed up calling it BigKevs Predator. It all bodes well for tomorrow. Strange the way the Straps have just appeared though isn't it. Maybe its something in the time of year and they are on the move??
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial
