Black and Yellow Fish???

#1 Post by Liamo »

Lads,

A mate of mine is a diving fanatic and a group of them were out off Dingle Harbour yesterday. He said they came across shoals of 10 - 12 inch fish which had black and yellow banding on the side and were quite slimline in profile. He asked me this morning what they were and I haven't a clue. Anyone heard of similar or can take a guess???

Black and yellow stripes? Sounds like a sergeant major fish, but they are normally off the coast of Africa :?

Only grow to about 8 inches,

More than likely black bream

Dunno... This guy does an awful lot of diving and knows his stuff when it comes to the usual species but this one had him stumped. He was quite adamant about the colouration. Have been googling all morning and cannot find anything that matches his description. Wierd
