Anybody know where to get decent size hermit crabs. Can find plenty of tiny ones in rock pools but yet to come across decent sized ones.
Cheers

I remember people used to use a drop net off my local pier with some fish heads in it and used to get loads maybe you should try something like that you would also get shrimp and welks that way.

I brought in a nice sized one from Greystones North beach there recently.
I put it out as bait, didn't catch anything though and it was a busy night with dogs, it did seem like a nice bait alright, good and soft towards the back, supposed to be a good bait for smuts.
I think I had 20 dogs, 2 dabs and a coalie that night, the coalie wasn't alive when I brought it in so a baited up with that and even that caught a dog.
2008 Species: Flounder, whiting, coal fish, Dogfish, rockling, dab.
