Rock mark in Rush 30/06/07

#1 Post by adam.urwin »

Went out for some Macjie bashing with an Aussie mate who's never fished over here before. Headed to a rock mark supplied by KK. Been here once before and got 9 mackies in an hour, but thought the spot could provide more. Tackled my mate up with cheap gear and laughed for half an hour as he proceeded to fish a fixed spool upside down cos thats what he was used to! Had a couple of macks before the weather turned and we got drenched. On my last cast I noticed a 6 - 8lb bass come out of the rocks and follow the spinner. Changed tack and put on a rapala to try and tempt him; no luck. Water was very clear and we stayed for about 2 more hours float fishing fresh mack, also tried ledgering. Not a dickie bird after that and went home disgusted!
Fish 2009; Whiting, Dab, Pollock, Short Spined Sea Scorpion, Flounder, Ballan Wrasse, Bass, Blennie, Tompot Blennie, Coalfish.
