Having just watched the news, it seems the waters off Gulleen are throwing up all sorts of record catches
Cocaine by the ton!
Wait a minute, isnt this Jims patch?
Now that would make a change from all the specimen cod and coalfish he keeps turning up
Big catch in Cork!!!

On a serious note, should it really be left to the RNLI to clear this up? Hopefully they will be paid by the state for doing something that the Navy and Customs should really be doing ...

You're right. I spoke to one of the Lifeboat lads last night, 18 hours start to finish he was away. After an hour he said they knew there was nobody in the water and it became a drug scoop exercise.
The boat is only staffed by the cox and some young fellas today so at least the guys are back earning.

“........if people from Leinster support Munster, it’s actually good as it has separated those who really want to support us from the fickle ones, which means the base is being built on a solid core of support. If it’s based on fly-by supporters, that’s not a good foundation – as they say, rats will always jump first from a sinking ship.” Denis Hickie, Disco Legend

I cant understand why the LIFEBOAT is still searching out there, that is not there job. They are a LIFEBOAT not a SEARCH BOAT. The only reason they should be out there is if there are still people missing :?:
I served in the RNLI for 15yrs and we were NEVER aloud to continue searching for wreckage if there was no persons reported missing.
