North Antrim Coast

#1 Post by drewk »

I am holidaying on the North Antrim Coast for three weeks this year basing myself near Bushmills :D and I'm hoping that the wife will let me out to play about every 3rd day or so :P :P :P . I intend to both bait (when it's available) and lure fish at several marks I know such as Benone (overnight trip planned and authorised as 3 month advance notification and request forms submitted in triplicate, along with the bribe of a nice meal out  ), Ballintoy, Dunsevick, Torr Head and Ballycastle.

Could anyone offer advice on other good marks and tactics at these or the above locations as I am a relative novice up there. I would also like to fish Castlerock beech for the first time and the river mouth seems a perfect spot. Do you have to access this spot by walking the length of the beech or is there an easier option :?:

I also might ask for my birhtday present early and request a boat fishing trip out of Ballycastle or the like. As I would be going by myself could anyone offer advice on a good charter boat that might take individuals on to make up the numbers.

I intend to make a catch report on my return so some of the info might be a bit out of date. Thanks for the help guys.

Cracking place to base yourself up in the Bushmills area. Really the only place to buy bait etc up the is from Causeway Bait and tackle. Josie is the owner and a real nice guy too with helps!!!
Phone number 02820 730025 if you need to order bait etc.
The tackle shop is on the left hand side of the street as you are heading up towards the police station.

Have a good un and keep let us know how you get on.
