People: Me and my daughters

Duration: 2 hours

Tide: Rising

Weather: Light winds and chilly

Bait: Rag

Rigs: 3 hook scratchers

Results: 6*Pollock, 2*Coalies, 3*Shore Rockling, 8*Ballan Wrasse, 1*Corkwing Wrasse & 5*Goldsinney Wrasse

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:I'd been promising the girls I would take them out fishing since Monday but I had to keep cancelling due to other things so I was determined to make it to the Dee last night. The pressure was on to bring in the goods. The three of us had a rod each but between tying rigs, re-baiting and releasing fish, I didn't even get the chance to wet my line. There was action right from the start with a 1/2 Ballan demolishing the rag on Ashleigh's rig (she's 13) as Holly (she's 6) caught a little Goldsinney. Later Ashleigh caught a Coalie to 1lb and a Pollock to 1.5lb's and certainly they put up a good fight on the light tackle (she complained that her wrist was sore). The pollock was a PB for her. Later Holly caught a Ballan to 1lb and the squeels of excitement from her followed by the mad dancing around the pier certainly made her night (another PB). We fished until all the rag was gone ( the wrasse went mad for the dried up and shrivled rag left at the bottom of the bait box ) and the kids went home happy. Deffo fufilled the fatherly duties!! Best session at the Dee with the kids yet.
