Well Kraken.
First thing I would say is don't do it. They will drive you mad.
Secondly if that did not stop you give us a bell and I will go mad with you
Spent a couple of hours watching them up your way the other day and was very tempting.
Youre on mate - what u doing Friday Evening about 5/6ish ?? Was going to go to either the Barnawee Bridge or Shandon Roundabout bridge (by Park Hotel).
Still need to get set up with some light tackle/floats etc. but not too sure as to what exactly I need.....
Is bread the bait of choice ?? What tpe float? what size hooks?
Mullet fishing is quite reliant on where you are actually fishing. Is there any effluent, abbatoir or fish waste going into the water? If so whats going in is what they feed on and what you should use for bait.
Pay close attantion to their movements between tides as this has a HUGE bearing on fishing down in Cork at least.
Can you groundbait in the area?
Try and fish from an elevated position as this will greatly improve your hook up rate.
“........if people from Leinster support Munster, it’s actually good as it has separated those who really want to support us from the fickle ones, which means the base is being built on a solid core of support. If it’s based on fly-by supporters, that’s not a good foundation – as they say, rats will always jump first from a sinking ship.” Denis Hickie, Disco Legend
Cant make it on Friday. I'm a steward at the home nations. I have a couple of spots picked out down your way. We might meet up and compare spots.
I have always ground baited with bread and mackerel and found that I get more takes using the latter as hook bait. IMO a lot more missed bites on the bread but as said it depends on where you are fishing and what they are feeding on.
