Welcome to the site,
By loops i presume you mean the line lay on the spool? I would suggest you strip the line off, and put it back on. The people here suggest different mehods to do this, but the important thing is to keep some tension or weight so to speak on the line,so it doesnt loop. They suggest from playing the line under a phone book on the floor,i.e have the spool behind the phone book, the line coming under the book to your spool,to prevent any slack in the line as you wind, to placing the spool in a bucket of water, basically anything to keep the line heavy, and also dont reel too fast. The weight of the phone book will prevent the line looping as it is under tension as you reel in. Others will add to this, but this should sort out your line problem on the fixed spool, and help with getting a few extra yards casting distance, and more comfortable fishing. As regards sligo marks I am of no use on this, sorry.

Hi Kevin, it sounds like you mean wind knots when you cast, some of the lsds from teh casting forum might know what the problem is there, I only know of it happening with braid and not mono line.
