i like to use a bolt rig as seen here, bit fiddely but feel my success rate has gone up with it

Depends on the venue man... but id generally stick with 1 up 1 down, 2 up or even 3 up...

have caught them on several different rigs but recon the right bait is more critical and very sharp hooks that need checking for sharpness regularly bass have hard mouths !!!

Running ledger on light tackle is good fun. Apart from that, as The Dodger said, the right bait for the right location is more important.
