Wicklow pier fishes onto to sand except for the extreme seaward side close in. Check my description on the marks page. Fish baits will get dogs which can come in very large numbers at night and rag will get flats and pollack. Lots of immature fish to small hooks.
The murrough beach (only called north beach in guide books) is the usual shingle onto sand and fishing is centered around the monkey pole (big white pole which predecessor was climbed up to look out to sea). Needs a blow to fish well and to be fished in darkness. Mussels, rag and fish baits used to do the job.
