Trolling

#1 Post by hush1 »

Hi Guys,

What would be the best all round lures for trolling on the East coast(Dublin)and also the West Coast(Galway)?

Something that would attract bass to sea trout to Mackeral?

I have flying C`s , German sprat, small makeral plugs?

Thoughts?

For an easy answer to your question Oisin, try some of the Rapala diving plugs. Something like the Rapala Sliver is designed for being trolled. Bear in mind that you need to be just ticking along and no more for this. Another easy option is one that is quite commonly seen in Cork harbour and it involves hand lines and paravanes with the paravane designed to keep the lure swimming at a certain depth. I often saw lads trolling these with huge success near Roches Point. Do a search on EBay for Paravanes and you should see what I mean.
